We provide hands on, experiential learning opportunities that seamlessly encompass motor, social emotional, STEAM and cognitive development, based on emergent curriculum and the interests and strengths of our very diverse community.
Moving Joyfully at Kaleidoscope
Once a week children are invited to participate in a creative movement class led by expert dance teacher Kellee, founder of Moving Joyfully.
"If you were to look in on a class I was teaching, you would see a room full of young, happy, and engaged children, using their imaginations and learning to express their individual style. The children would be learning motor skills, basic dance technique, confidence and much more, but if you ask them, they would say they are playing and having fun."
Reggio Inspired Project Work
Three days a week small groups of children are invited to participate in art studio with Nellie, owner of KCDC. Children collaborate to brainstorm, research, plan and create group or individual projects based on emergent curriculum throughout the center. Children's artwork and documentation is displayed throughout the center as well as the community and families are often encouraged to participate in a variety of ways. Art Studio is a pillar of the KCDC culture.
